nice one thanks for all that !

is there no way of doing it without the tensioner ?
plug in your data here:

If your actual chainstay length is a mm or two below the ideal for a given ratio, then you can get away without a tensioner.
Chain line is more important than tension, within reason, of course,.

Ooo! Good thread.

I think I've just decided that I'll convert my Axis TT to a SS. I stripped it last week and was considering selling the frame. But I can hardly bear to get rid of it.

A SS conversion seems to tick many of the problem boxes I had.

I've got a pair of Quadra 21R forks (Yellow), which seem a bit 'sticky' currently. I'll open them up and see what the story is inside.

Any suggestions what other components might look good. I'll need:-
Cranks
Rear Sprocket and spacers
Chain Tensioner
Chain
Brakes and levers
Headset
Saddle

Here's the frame as it stands.

His username is DB__AXIS__TT [or something very close to that]
 Kind of weird to see that as a gaming username.Thought it might be a member on here but didnt reply to any of my requests :?

PS
I have a SS kit going spare .Gusset tensioner, gusset chain with next to no use and sprockets/ spacers[the 2 type]16,18 and maybe a 14 too :?

I play(ed) Xbox too... but its not me.

I've got no time to anymore though, I seem to spend my evenings looking on this darned forum!
