Hello everybody
I’ve bought a 2005 Rocky Mountain ETSX-70 and have set about making a few tweaks.
Apparently the front mechs are notoriously tricky to get in tune and mine seems to be no exception!
I’d like to remedy this by going for a single ring at the front maybe with a chain device?
From my bit of google-ing it seems you can use a your existing cranks just with shorter bolts or something? What’s the actual deal with that?
For the time being it’ll just be a 1x9 set up so with that in mind how many teeth would I want at the front?
I spend very little time on the smallest rear and do need to be able to climb.
Also I’ve never really needed a chain device before but have been getting more aggressive recently. What, if any should I be looking at?
Any thoughts or advice greatly received!
Will
