Simplon? The poor man’s pace?

Didn't they make some components too? I seem to remember QR skewers and a few other bits??

Hi,
yes, indeed Simplon is an meanwhile very old Austria bike brand. Still arround today and based in Hard, Voralberg.

I do have a bit of old documentation, ads and brochures

They had quite early nice MTBs with Aluminum frames,

but started also other things like Carbon early (RR already from 1992)

and also Titanium

Not sure what was produced on their own, or let's say specifically just for Simplon, and what was rather re-selling of standard frames from Taiwan.

The thing is, i never have seen another Simplon with a rectangular shaped tubes,
or let's say also rectangular tubes for the main frame. That's the reason why I can't provide any other Information to the searched Bike.

The pic below from a test in a bike magazin from 1992 shows at least rectangular seat stays (but round seat and down tube)

That’s a different brand from the UK. They didn’t make frames only Ti parts, bolts etc
Ken the owner had a ridiculously light Titan Ti Compe IIRC, built with all Simplon Ti bits inc. spokes. Think it weighed around 17lbs

Schooled. :)

They look like nice frames.
