Simple Poll, Do you Own a Single Speed MTB

I have too single speeds. My only road bike is SS and my Oranage EVO2 is/was/willbe again a SS one I rebuild it.

I'm up to four single speed mountain bikes at the moment although to be fair, one is still a work in process.

Definately not for using all the time, but I do like the simplicity of singlespeed and the way it makes you power up the hills!

All of my bikes have been singlespeed at some point apart from my crosser

Interesting poll..... 39 yes and 22 no. I was expecting the other way round :?
I voted no. The last ss I had was in the 80's and it was a BMX. I remember wishing it had gears......

Haha, when I got my first SS Mtb Bike a few years back I remember thinking 'wow, its like a big BMX!'

I guess different people have different thoughts

Had a SS, too hard up hill, too slow down hill. Put gears on it, much better.

Though tempted on SSing the Manitou for a laugh to see how light I can make it . Wouldn't stay like it for long.

I own 2 singlespeed bikes (3 if you include my BMX) but both big wheeled bikes are for commuting.

Reason I like SS on the commuter bikes is lack of maintainance etc. JUst keeps things simple. Not really into MTBing SS, my knees wouldn't take it.

If you answer "yes", there should be a supplementary poll "...and is it a Kona?" - I seem to see more Konas converted to singlespeed than any other brand. FWIW, mine's a Solitude.
