Here is mine - 1992 Windriver. Totally original, looks like not a single part on it has been changed from factory and with the shiniest DX cranks I have ever seen! Aside from a few chips on one of the fork blades it is unmarked - you could eat your dinner off of it!

Hi,
I have a bike like Scott USA which, according to the catalogs, has a frame similar to the 1987/1988 Boulder. Does anyone have any additional information about what series it was and how to paint the frame in this way?

Thanks for any information.

Ask yourself, did I buy it to look at or to ride? Great bike BTW and welcome to the forum.
my bikes live in the house, they are everywhere, and the kids live nearby.

my tools live in the kitchen, so i don't need to go in the basement to get greasy. priorities. IMG_9491.jpeg

It kind of looks similar to my 89 Windriver. Going from the groupset and U brake yours is definately a 88 or older. Are you sure it's not a 88 Windriver. I'm only guessing that as both have Deore groupsets and a similar paint scheme.

I'm not sure but I think the windriver and boulder in 1988 had similar frames. And here's something completely new. Today I managed to buy a 1989 Windriver II on the XT group ;)
