That's a good spot! I wonder how K2 would feel, although they killed the real Proflex bikes. Love the fact a 19 year old bike is being used in the banner!

Here's mine. Just resurrected it after I was given it in a box of bits. A bit of TLC, one or two bits from Recycle Bikes in Sheffield and she's back on the road. Its a Proflex 857 with Easton tubes, Easton carbon swing-arm and Smartshok2 electronically damped Noleen Crosslink suspension. Managed to stick some period running gear on it. Kind of interested to know how rare it is.

It's a 1997 Proflex 857, Easton Program aluminium main triangle with a carbon swingarm. Probably originally came with a Crosslink fork with Noleen NR2 shock, so perhaps the shock has been upgraded or the forks have been changed.
Probably had Shimano M739 XT running gear originally.
Not particularly rare, bought mine for £200 a few years ago with Magura rim brakes and a few other goodies....

Thanks for the info. I've managed to drop a bit of XT stuff on it. Interesting info on the shock. Thats what most folk who see it get interested in. Not sure it improves the ride (can't tell the difference between hard, soft and smart settings). Yours looks in good nick. Thought about dropping some Maguras on mine, but will wait for a decent set to pop up on a forum or on sale somewhere. Could use a rear disk as it has I.S. mounts, but would look odd with rim brakes on the front. Strange that it came with disk facility at rear, but not at front which is a shame. I guess around then disks were not so common. Didn't really do it up for monetary value. Just like resurrecting old kit. I do the same with old 80's 16bit computers. Just started work on a Cannondale SuperV 600 with P-Bone Headshok. That should be a challenge to put back together. Currently struggling to undo rear suspension mounts. Well and truly locked on, but I'm not sure if the bolts have LH thread or not. Asked on forums, but no response. May pop it into local bike shop for them to have a go at freeing them off. Reckon I need an impact driver to crack it loose.
