Show us yer FSR's

Mine used to creak something rotten, turns out I just needed to nip the seat collar up a little bit tighter.

touché

at least you're riding yours for it to actually squeak.
mines still in bits on top of my cupboard....just not had the impetus to sort out the rest of my bearing upgrade! :(

Picked up my replacement for the stolen FSR Team DH today. Thought I was going to die riding it six miles this afternoon. Guess it's time to start getting in shape for racing next season.

Nice work Gazzalodi, clubhouse leader with an impressive quiver of FSRs. Wouldn't mind a few more close-up pics of the DH. What's the story of the stolen one and how did you find a replacement?

There's a Stumpjumper FSR-XC hidden behind the Ground Control as well.

I'll get some closeups tomorrow. Bed time now.

The story with the stolen bike is pretty straight forward. I was working overseas for a while. We had my bikes stored in the basement, someone during the past few months broke in and took only the FSR-DH. Found it gone when I returned and was starting to get the bikes ready for riding again. Never thought I would replace it. Insurance gave me a decent settlement. But not where near enough for a new bike. I was thinking about maybe going with an old M1 or maybe M3... I like the older bikes, since I'm older as well.

Found the FSR-DH listed by a pinkbike member in Boston. We chatted for a few days, I knew I wanted the bike from the moment I saw it. Great thing is this, in 1999 when they were announced I pre-ordered my original. I used my Ground Control as my template, so ordered a large. Too big. We went ahead and built it and I raced it, but it always was a bit big for me. This one is a medium, it fits me perfectly.

Re:

All's well that ends well I suppose. Local auctions have an NOS FSR DH on sale atm but a US$1000 starting price frame only is too rich for my blood. What did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Re:

$1000 would be hard for me to pass up for a never ridden FSR-DH frame set. I was stunned I found this one. They didn't make that many. I paid 1700 USD for this one, and was thrilled.

Here come the photos now as well... Yeah I felt the need to dress period correct for them.
