Addition on this: I'm using a 130mm fork as the 140mm of the BETD links with 100mm fork really made a strange feeling... :)

Ahh well with a BETD link you can run much longer forks, Jr Ts go well on FSRs

Re: fork lenth

I run two 1998-ish fsr's. One's an enduro the other a comp. I run pace rc41 xcam forks on the fsr enduro (110mm ish travel) and some 130mm travel revelations on the fsr comp. Both have betd links. Pace fork is light and supple and works great with betd on shortest travel setting making the bike a surprisingly agile xc bike. On the other bike, the revelations 130mm complement the betd link (coupled to a Fox rp3) on middle travel setting 5" I think, making it more of a hard hitter. If the frame could tolerate it I'd be tempted to put an even longer travel fork on, the geometry would handle it ok but of course bb height would increase.

These really are nice riding/handling bikes, congrats! That one looks cherry.
As long as the back of bike doesn't have any play side to side, there's not much maintenance you can do for the bushings really.

Thanks Nightrider, I am REALLY pleased with it. There's not play at all in the back end that I can find, so I think I'll leave well enough along apart from regular cleaning and lube.

Thanks
Jamie

Managed to bag these for £115 yesterday, that's this months big spend. Next month shall be my linkage then I should be able to start riding. Still gonna need tyres, new bars and stem but I can sort that as and when something pops up on here.

What travel are they isitafox?

Can't make my mind up whether to just ride and update mine as it is or go for some newer forks and a better rear shock. Also, does the BETD rear link have any other improvement or change to the ride other than the ability to increase travel?

BETD linkage changes BB height and head tube angle so your bike could perform multiple roles. (XC, AM, light DH)
I would say investing in an air can shock is well worth it, it really transforms the rear end.
