Show us Ya Citrus Fruit! (Orange Content)

Which would be correct for 1996 as it was a blended year.
739 naming came with the new V-Brake lever, caliper and Top-Swing front mech.
The rest was still good old 737.

So as you say a mix, not pure 737.
replaced v-brakes with 737 cantis so the purists can breathe easy again :-) - a straight swap out and not much difference in braking power intriguingly. will shorten the cable outer at the back when I can find my cable snippers!

New member here and thought you would like to see my 1996 E3 (no cracks) and mix of Deore and XT with unusual saddle. All original apart from tyres complete with a bit of light corrosion.

Thank you for your education on this. I wrecked the original saddle in a fall shortly after I bought the bike and this saddle was an option in the shop but I don’t remember how much it cost. More money than sense at the time obviously!
Glad the rest of the bike and saddle has survived another 27 years, it’s a very forgiving ride even for my vintage 😎
