it's gotta be Tioga City Slickers or similar for old skool look, I've always thought they resemble the tyres you get on a 125cc 'proddy' racer!

I've also used Schwalbe Marathon Plus in 1.95" (heavy but fast and puncture resistant, tho a PITA to fit) and Schwalbe City Jet (lighter, not as puncture proof, look cooler - more like a City Slicker)...

GT with City Jets:

Scott with Marathon Plus:

There are skinnier ones, IIRC these are 1.3" and look pretty puny but absolutely fly:

... and there are 2"+ monsters which roll surprising well and soak up everything on the right pressure... 1) Schwalbe Fat Frank:

2) Schwalbe Big Apple 2.1" - look bigger than 2.1" and really fast & smooth:

any tread pics?

You asked for 'slicks'

I have some (contradiction) specialized 'slicks' (modern) I would sell - will check sizes if you want ?

Another vote for Schwalbe City Jets here. I have the 1.5" version @ 85psi and it rolls nicely whilst still absorbing some of the bumps. I even go down the odd bit of offroad track or footpath on them and in the summer at least they cope with that and haven't punctured yet.
With the grooves cut into the slick they do remind me of the Tioga City Slickers, not the lightest slick but effective and good value IMO.
