Short frames

I'm exactly the same height and proportions as you. I have 19" 94 Orange P7 that fits me perfectly - no more nagging lower back issues and it's also a ton of fun to ride.

Brilliant, thanks. Funny, it was an Orange I wanted in the first place. Do you know if the geometry is similar across the range? Will have a look at the brochures I suppose.

Having now bought this: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=349632 (which actually fits great since fitting a longer seatpost), I'm no longer actively looking... but I'll probably get the urge to get something a bit more modern soon. It will be an Orange I think... but with space being tight at the moment I'll wait for the right spec to turn up rather than rushing into anything.

Re:

I remember my raleigh/dyna-tech torus having a short top tube. I now ride a gt lightning, which certainly has a shorter top tube than, say, an equivalent kona. The shorter top tube probably translates to a shorter wheelbase too, at least that's the feeling I get. The gt lightning has a 'sharper/twitchier' feeling at the bars as opposed to the 'slower/more stable' kona cinder cone which it replaced.
