Shimming droppers?

Chaps, is it ok to shim a 27.2 dropper to 31.6 with a proper sleeve, or is that too much of a leap?

I have a cheap 27.2 TMARS type cable operated jobbie that works fine. A decent long ally sleeve is £7.

Don't want to stress or crack the frame.

Views please?

Should be ok on alloy frame, I always try to get 80mm shims. Technicaly does not matter if you shim 0.2mm or 2.3. See if the frame has a minimum seatpost insertion, some have: same rule applies shim length.
