Shimano Sante Addiction

I just bought a Sante mini group before Xmas, and I've become strangely obsessed by it! It looks fabulous on a skinny steel frame bike. Especially a light colour bike.

Anyone else have a similar addiction? 😲😂

Was marketed as a posh 6400 back in the day.
I had hubs. The rear one is still on my touring bike going smooth and strong

I think it had a kind of a 'space age'/;'pc-digital age ' lookthat was meant to be fresh and clean but I dont know if it aged well aesthetically or physically(the anodisation).Impressive that a rear hub has given such sterling service .I guess you could say it was pre STI swansong?

By the looks of it it's an hard enamel paint finish, with gold detailing. The levers and the brakes I've got are amazingly clean after 40 years...!

Apparently Campagnolo tried a similar thing on its Chorus and Athena groups but there aren't many examples out there

Black and white? Not so sure about it... An acquired taste maybe?

The hubs were an anodised silver satin finish rather than the white paint effect
