Just introduced myself over in the newbies thread.
I bought an ‘86 Raleigh Sirocco frame last year and I’m in the process of sourcing all the Factory correct (where possible) and Golden Arrow parts to restore it (chainset, FD, RD and shifters already sourced).
I managed to bag the shifters at a good price, but when they arrived, my lack of knowledge and eagerness became apparent.
Although all the parts were there, the radiused boss covers (that fit between the shifter and the frame) were incorrect and don’t fit the frame or shifters. I thought trying to source a Shimano pair might be straight forward but not so.
An extensive Google search unearthed various online US bike shops selling modern day versions, but not so in the UK, even SJS!
Can anyone provide some guidance or is it just a case of waiting for some used ones to come up?
