Just to set it up using the outer chainring so as not to keep moving it on a fresh finish and I don't like the crappy chrome plated cross heads they fit :?

As it turns out, the standard screw was 'just' long enough

Not sure if they are O's or 0's but both characters look identical and the codes are :

0F - no adjuster
0L - with adjuster

That's the letter "O" - a date code for 1990.

At least we know the change was defo in 1990

The machined clamp one does look nice but I have just taken it off the Marin :-( but I have put the other NOS one on

Its the OE clamp but it was modified (on both sides) :

It was clamped onto a bar of the correct diameter and put it in a dividing head on the milling machine :

The tumbie and brake mounts were done the same way but I dont want to clutter your front mech thread up
