Shimano Canti Brakes Cable Stradles A and B

Retro Guru
Hi,
it`s not clear for me which Shimano cable stradle shall I use for Shimano canti brakes. The stradles use names A and B and I don`t know which one should be used for front brake, and which one for the rear one. Do you have any idea or recommendation?

I guess the following:
stradle A = front brake
stradle B = rear brake

Is it correct?
Thank you.
Peter

Re:

There are a few other lengths available too.

Code - Length
S 63 mm
A 73 mm
B 82 mm
C 106 mm
D 93 mm

According to the info here you are correct that A is for the front and B is for the rear.

In practice it's often preferable to use as short a straddle as possible to maximise potential braking power.
Also, some Shimano brakes are designed to use different straddle lengths, hence the range of lengths available.

Re:

Thanks very much for attached service manual. It helps a lot.
I will check what will fit the best, but probably as I guessed - A for front, while B for rear brake.
Thank you very much.

Re:

M734 use A & B... M900 use A as a rule but other canti's use different lengths. Which canti's do you intend to use?
