It's only when you start spending serious money that it really deteres the would-be thieves from stealing your bikes. I've had a couple taken over the years [using D-Locks etc.] and the only time I really felt like my bike was safe was when I had the IF locked and bolted to an internal wall in my flat in Battersea..

I need to sort out security at home really.. Two are just resting up, not even locked.. :roll:

The Fats are hiding in cupboards. Honestly.

Does anyone know of any specialist bicycle insurers/insurance companies?

Personally I genuinely believe you should be able to shoot someone. Maybe they should design or approve an anti-burglar weapon like a 12-bore with salt cartridges or a Tazer for home use. Then as he is twitching on the floor you can kick the crap out of him.

I agree you should be able to shoot them, i had a vision of a bike lock with a small nuck in it to blow the perp up when they nic your bike, but this would mean that your bike goes up as well.

Alternativly you could cover your bike in polonium and then wait for the thief to die like a spy but this would also be expensive cleaning it off each time you wanted to use it.

Sometimes i just think its not worth having anything nice because the scummy chip people will try and steal it sooner or later.

All bikes are now safe indoors, put the spikey lawn thing up against the bit of fence they came over, hopefully they'll at least get a bunch of spikes in the chest next time they try it.

The shed's no good for bike storage anymore, thinking about it I shouldn't have had them in there it's practically made of balsa wood.

Gonna put an alarm in there anyway and a security light to blind them when they go in. Can only think that this time it was kids that were either after some tools or got scared off, proffesional bike thieves wouldn't have left empty handed.

Might consider changing the doors to some kind of electrified steel entry system.

I linked the shed (which is brick built) into the house alarm system, which at least means that at night the shed is automatically alarmed.

Thought of digging a punji stick pit ( Description- Sometimes a pit would be dug with punji sticks in the sides pointing downward at an angle. A soldier stepping into the pit would find it impossible to remove his leg without doing severe damage, and injuries might be incurred by the simple fact of falling forward while one's leg is in a narrow, vertical, stake-lined pit) around the inside of my fence. Like the idea of hearing the little fuckers scream every time they try to pull their leg out :twisted:
