Told the guy at the counter that the item was a 20 year old , second hand bicycle part that the seller had obviously overstated the value for insurance purpose .
and they send it back with that reason asking for a revaluation from the customs people .
Wanted £40 for a part that only cost me half that . Second valuation came back as £7 . worth a try ?

Good point. Seems totally unfair to charge import on SH stuff anyway. We don't bring stuff in for profit and there rarely is any in it. The delays are a right pita too.

Well I picked the package up today as I couldn't wait as its for my birthday!
The results can be seen on my wicked build thread.
But rest assured I have not finished & will contest the charge as my new hobby, I will keep you informed.
