Now that i've gone back to full XC Pro the setting up of the gears is proving difficult as now i have two points of adjustment. Where as be i only the adjusting screw on the handle bar.
Now what is process with setting up with the rear mech adjusting screw and the thumb shifters adjusting screw?
As they seem to be fighting with each other with me being the 'piggy' in the middle
Any helpful advice please most appreciated :D

Leave the one on the thumbshifters quarter way out, the rear mech half way, then set yer h/l limit screws on the mech- pull cable tight with the gears in smallest sprocket, and adjust using the mech barrel adjuster.......it's easier to use just the one, leave the thumbshifter one if ye need to adjust yer gears on the fly.

Then get shimano........... :p

OR.......Sheldon Says

Or buy Campagnolo and adjust the gears as good as they get. Then buy Shimano.

Like Lysander says, do the Hi/Lo before any serious fine tuning.

Before i started the thread i contacted 'Betfred.com' on the odds on you being the first posting that and they said they would only give favourite odds so poor that not worth betting

I've already adjusted the limited screws. But the adjusting screws are being a tag team

leave the one on the thumbshifters with a few threads either way. Then adjust rear meach correctly. means you can subltly adjust the gears on the hoof if needed.

That has covered it....set shifter screw to half way and do the off bike adjustment at the mech, that leaves the on bike adjustment from the bars in two weeks when your prestretched cable stretches just that bit more!......
