servicing rock shox judy xc's?

Dead easy mate.
You just need a 24mm socket to undo the top nut. Let out all the oil and take out the springs and plastic spacer thing.
Undo the 5mm allen bolts at the bottom of the legs five turns after pulling off the damping adjuster on the right leg. Tap the allen bolts to separate the damping rods. Completely remove the 5mm allen bolts. The damping rods can be removed now and the legs separated if needed.
Do not mix up the damping rods left to right! They are different.
Simply reassemble using 130cc of oil for the right* leg and 30cc of oil for the left* leg. *(as if you're sitting on the bike). 10 grade oil is good.
Easy peasy. ;)

My Judy XC (retro so 1995) do not have oil in, other than in a cyclinder....

so first thing is to get the right year for your fork ;)

Yeah, early ones used a cartridge in one leg(both legs for the DH)no other oil appart from in those.

Ahh, those instructions are for 2001 Judy XC's. What year are yours jimmy-s3?

 We're in the Retro Chat area, not the other stuff area.

Pretty much the same though.

Service Manual for 95/96 is in my Gallery (hit the button below)

Mine i think are 96?
Cheers FluffyChicken, had a look at the service manual for that fork!
Im not entirely sure what the forks need dooing to them? ive just bought them and fitted them to the bike, there seems to be about an inch of play before the forks take any load!
Any ideas?

The elastomers are probably shafted.Unscrew the topcaps and have a look

It does sound like dead elastomers to me. Undoubtedly the damping cartridge is shot too so all there is to do is clean, grease and reassemble.
