Probably a unusual one. My 1989 Marin has a 26.4mm for example.

A set of vernier calipers is invaluable here. If have the funds get a pair and you will know instantly. Sorry I cannot help more.

Can't help directly but my 94 Pine Mtn (same frame as Eldridge) was 26.8

Just pop into yoour LBS, they'll have calipers and measure it for you.
