Fit is the most important but after a while, if the quality is poor, the worse the fit. Hence the question.

So far I'm hearing Wera, Stanley, Park and Facom. The latter I know of well, but probably out of range process wise. Looking for best bang for buck I guess.

What do you use at moment?

I find driver bits fit better for a lot of jobs as you can get closer to a proper fit in the head. Obviously a poor fitting driver is going to wear over time but also a tough ill fitting driver will damage the screw. I have a Stanley bit set i have had for many years and used it on cars motorbikes and mountain bikes and still going strong. I also have a Park driver set but never use it as they are sloppy in the head so personally wouldnt recommend them.

Currently have a mix of screwdrivers, I think mostly Draper but some old school stuff from the grandads toolbox. Heads are getting worn, some have broken so looking to replace them all with something nice and long lasting.

I have looked at driver ones as well as normal, bit reviews are a minefield. Have an Amazon voucher I'd like to use.

Definitely second on Wera.... absolutely head and shoulders above all others, especially their Allen keys. I was bought a set of Park tool drivers & Allen keys as a present and although they are very good, they are still not quite as good as my Wera sets.

Without wishing to teach people to suck eggs, I don’t think there is magic wand made specifically for soft aluminium fixings, but in my experience they either get stuck by ‘electrical corrosion’ or whatever you want to call it or they’ve had a blob of loctite.

Corrosion X works wonders for penetrating on the former

A hot soldering iron applied to the head of the screw helps soften the later...
