Scott Cheyenne (1997) - front tire has a hole, I can't find tires that fit :-(

Hi

I need new tires for my Scott Cheyenne (1997). The valve on the front wheel is turning red, i.e. air is coming out.

How big do the tires have to be?
With a web search I found https://archive.is/xuFUk

Can someone help me to buy the right tires. I already have 2x tires at home which unfortunately do not fit.

Why do the tyres you have bought not fit?
Are they too wide?
Too narrow?
Wrong diameter?
Can you provide a photo of the label on them, maybe?
This may help get the ball rolling
Maybe even consider speaking with your local bike shop / take the wheel / bike there.

I think this might need a new inner tube.
If Air is leaking out of the valve, the tyre could be ok.
There are 2 types of valve
Schraeder, like a car
Presta, narrow, with a threaded valve lock at the top. Screenshot_20240817-075904_Firefox.jpg You need a tube that does 26x1.95 (or whatever it says embossed on the tyre) with the matching valve.
(If you need a tyre, that's where you'll find the size you need too)
Chain stores probably don't have this, but an independent bike shop will.
You will also need levers and a decent pump.

I went to a physical store before and asked the nice lady for the right tire.

Here is the right tire and the right valve.

Now the next person can easily find the solution with a search engine.

I hope for another 30 years with the Scott bike.

This is an inner tube, not a tyre. This sits inside of the tyre holding air, with the tyre around it, like a protective shell if you will. This is the correct size for your bike based on the other information you have provided.

If you lack the knowledge of how to fit it you can either:

A: watch a video on YouTube showing you how, or

B: get a friend or local bike shop to do it for you.
