SBDU Mystery

I'm looking at an SBDU (SB1521), trouble is there's no Reynolds decals on it. The owner says it #could be 753, but I think it's maybe on the lumpy side, probably 531. Interested to buy it, but I'd prefer to know one way or t'other. Are there any special details on the 753…? I've got a Raleigh Banana 753 but it looks nowt like this!

The seatpost is 27mm dead, is that any clue to tubeset?

Can't id an SBDU from just a photo of a seat post, would need more photos of the frame details... dropouts, seat stay caps, lugs, bottom bracket, chain stay indents, fork tangs?, paint , decals and bare frame weight 👍

It's IS an SBDU (frame #SB1521). The only issue I have with it is whether it's 531 or 753. Can't take it apart to weigh it unless I buy it!

The decals are all standard for a Team Pro, these were the only other photos I was able to take:

More pics please, all I can see is that it's been repainted and the seat tube decal is completely wrong and was never used by Raleigh for the Ti Team livery.

Just thought I'd add looking a the first photo that the seat clamp may be over tightened with the 27mm post and should be a 27.2, would need to view it from the rear to confirm. This is a common issue with the threaded seat lug used on the earlier SB and Raleigh/Carlton Professional MkV frames when the seat lug is over tightened and not pulling squarely it tends to strip the thread.

Mystery solved: it's a 531, 27.2mm seat post, overtightened clamp! The repaint is excellent but not 100% accurate so I bought it at a good price. Nearly complete apart from Record wheels, get to work on it tonight 😎
