Saracen Sahara Elite, Tange double butted frame 46cm c-c/50cm c-t effective top tube 57cm c-c
I advertised this a year ago as a project that needed some serious cleaning and degunking. So after being in the garage since and other things on the go I got around to giving this a little tickle
The frame is in great condition and all straight, I've given the paintwork a light rub down with colour restorer and it's come up pretty good. There's a few minor marks but nothing of note or noticeable.
i think the rear rim had been replaced with a wider Alesa,The front is I presume the original Wolber anodised and is barely marked, both are fitted to Shimano QR hubs and shod with very useable 1.95 tyres (tubes hold air fine).
7 speed Deore Thumbies, Shimano Cantis which work well, the front probably needs a slight tweak or some new pads to be bob on. 300LX Exage Biopace triple fully stripped and cleaned. 300LX Rear I've stripped/cleaned and the 400LX front derailleur has been given a good clean also.
Cassette has been cleaned though my cassette remover wouldn't grip enough of the ring so I had to spend a while cleaning it in situ. There's not much wear to the teeth.
I think it's a Tange BB which runs really smoothly, the gear shifts are as expected.
HG50 chain has had a full degrease, clean and relube.
Shimano Deore flat pedals, some scrapes but rotate nice with no play.
Seatpost has been regreased and easy to adjust height, it's got a few marks on it but no deep gouges, the pinch lever arm works easily.
Original saddle is really comfortable, material is a little loose on the nose but I'll attempt to staple it down to secure it.
I'd like £175 for it, based in N.Herts, I'd really rather not post but would do at a pinch but getting a box is not so easy for me as I have no car.
