Between a couple of me pals we own half a dozen of these. i can tan (19mph avg) mine for 40/50 mile and step off ready for an afternoon dance (Tange Prestige), me 853 riding oppo's seem to have independently also reached this conclusion. Been up the Longhill @16mph thru inclusive of already tanning 20 miles first, truth is it felt like a bit of nothingness/did'nt touch, wish i had discoverd them in me younger days i'd have been actively seeking riders that favoured a wager (done 21 mile xcountry in hr 12 mins/summer gone), unfortunately i'm closer to 50 than 45 so any go fast is purely for the craic and this model feels like some kinda joke magic carpet that i don't want to get off. That coupled with a nos variant xt'd-up likely wont stand in at £300 really does provide a different slant (for a user).' A lot an half' (to be read in a BoyZee dialect).

Besides the reddy coloured version highlighted in this thread there were also two slightly different orange colours produced along with a bluey-purple, yellow and jade green (me fav).

Got an original strut fork kicking around somewhere for this model Gazz ;) , if it's going to the right home i'm sure i can have me arm twisted.

Half a dozen.. Sell me one!

I was wandering how the different colours fitted into the Saracen range. Like the green being the comp and 853 tubing. The red being the ?? and 853. You mentioned tange prestige and i did notice a while back a lovely orange frameset of the same geometry made out of prestige. :?

I think you'd go mental trying to Suss the Saracen manfacturing procedure  , thought i'd sussed it.. in that my jade green variant being Tange prestige and the green highlighted in the catalogue being 853 married with me oppos's two variants of Orange (one tange-one 853)...i was 'on 'em' for a minute then another pal turned up with the reddy colured lot in Tange prestige format (upto then i was convinced that colour signifyed 853 with all known lots suggesting this to be the case). Though if you want to go seriously Saracen nutty you've only got to evaluate the little fact that not all wishbone stays meet the seatpost at the same height, mine for example is noticeably lower than the example Gazz depicts in this thread (mine arrives at the seatpost clearly well under the bottom line of the topbar) and this anomaly also does not tie with specific metals used.

I'd sell you one fella if i had one for sale, i bought the yellow variant for me oppo not long ago and if you offered a Fat chance for it you'd likely kop for a right hander .....such is love for it ('i kid you not')

Them plummers you favour are also under-rated, tidy little mutts (even tidier crossed with an hard blood whippet) ;)

Cheers for that, as i thought with saracens procedures..
Plummer x whippet has been done.. ;) and yes Plummers are smashing dogs.

wishbone,

gazz, thats very nice, 853, breeze style dropouts, and the rear wishbone, looks very smooth.....too....!!!!!!

anyone know for sure which year the yellow one is (mine - I dunno!) the scan I have shows it with matching rigid forks and silver decals...

Love it, like the colour as it is though and looks in nick so don't rush a paint job. The kili with the wishbone is a thing of desire. :D
