'Hope' and 'Yes'. Nicely done :)

saw this on a tweet this morn

a POSITIVE postal vote long gone, sure i've done the right thing, but still getting the occassion butterflies

then... i rationalise

this last minute BT panic is hilarious, the manipulations from banks and now politcal interferance with the grocers.... think it's obvious who's got the most lose

don't think it'll be easy, there will be a big correction, markets will jitter, while most things will be better, some will be worse and i'm at an age i'll probably have to pay, but at the end of the day i'm confident i'm doing the correct thing for my daugther and country.. after all wouldn't want her growing up being told what to do by bankers, paying for an education, health care, getting by on pay day loans or food banks. she'll be able to benefit from politicans making policy relavent to the society she lives in, which willl be nice

don't sweat it lads

My own view is that Scotland would be better off in the UK, while the rest of the UK may benefit from losing Scotland.

Fascinated to know why such a wealth generating part of the UK would be a beneficial loss to the rest of the UK, never mind all our cultural and intellectual input..

We are constantly reminded by Westminster that the Scottish people get more, financially, from being part of the UK than we put in. If that were true, why are they so desperate for us to stay? Let us go and the money they'd save, supposedly, could be spent lowering the taxes of the Tories rich pals. The fact is the disUK, as it would be, have more to lose from the loss of the income/balance of payments from such as the oil or even the whisky industries.
Why a Tory government doesn't jump at the chance of having an inbuilt majority at Westminster with the removal of close to 50 Scottish Labour MPs from Westminster to allow them to then govern England and Wales in perpetuity without, as they claim, a Scotland that takes more than it gives. Something disnae add up. I smell shite.

Edit: the links in gmac's post bear this out.

.

Leaving our English friends in the Tory poo used to concern me and for a while kept me as a "don't know". However, the statistics suggest that almost no Westminsetr election has ever depended on the Scottish vote See http://wingsoverscotland.com/why-labour ... -scotland/ I’d also suggest a wee read of this from Mr Bragg – a true English patriot http://www.heraldscotland.com/comment/c ... t.25189347

I like to think we d be helping with Yes vote or that it would at worst be neutral for the many decent folks in England that dislike the current Westminster regime as much as i do.

The Labour party has lost its way. Big time. As OCP says, they do not represent the people they are meant to. There is a chance that if we win independence that the Scottish Labour party will re-invigorate itself and become something other than a poor facsimile of the Tory party. .

Totally agree. Will take time but they'll have a chance, especially if some better Labour talent returns north. To be fair, I think a Scottish Conservative party might also find itself with much more support. A negative for me, but may be a better reflection of the country.

And good to see another supporter of the Common Weal on here. There is no weal save the common weal and I'll hold to that regardless of the result.

Indeed. Just a shame our chance of following on rests on the right result.
