I´ve had those, they are indeed good shifters. they also had a plastic lever version that becomes brittle and breaks. Have you ever tried their newer Version (newer as in 30 yrs ago)?

No, I didn't know they made thumbshifters after these, thought they went straight to twist shifters. What do they look like?

Yesterday I picked up a couple derailleurs from a used bike shop, somewhat related.

They had a 6 speed and 7 speed version
