S works ti stem fatigue issues?

Hey guys,
I've just fitted a first generation S works ti stem to my stumpy and one of the lads mentioned that he remembered that these all snapped back in the day!  he says the second and third gen. ones were beefed up around the steerer clamp and used thicker material........... I've looked at photos of the later ones and they do seem to use thicker material in this area, should I be worried?! :?

I haven't got any experience with them, but seem to remember Scant saying a while back that they were a bit prone to failing...

Maybe check with him?

I've personally held off getting hold of one for that very reason.

Mind you, I don't know if there's anything Scant hasn't broken...

my mates spesh ti stem sheered off on a steep section in delamere forest  too dangerous to run mate, beware!

ill try and dig a pic out and scan it on here for ya

 that has ruined my day! Took me ages to get hold of one of these and it wasn't cheap :( maybe I should email specialized and tell them I've broken it. see if they'll send me a later one!

might be worth a shot, just lay it on thick and tell them you have always bought specialised top end bikes etc. and see what they say, you might be suprised! :D

If it's any use I am selling my later "shinier" version on the filthy Bay at the moment. (Shameless plug   )
I read (on here I believe) like you that the later ones such as this did not suffer the same issues.

HTH

Ben

Can we have a pic of yours :?: I have 1 and its bloody long too ;)
