Rockshox Mag 20 / 21 - Identification Help Please

Evening all. I've got some RockShox forks here, That I am trying to identify: https://imgur.com/a/iOX2sJl

They were sold to me as Mag 21's, but they don't inspire me with confidence, as all of the gold paint is coming off on my grubby mits.

I'd like to know what I have, as I would like to put the "right" parts on my new rebuild.

Where can I get seal kits for whatever I do have - are they universal, and what's the best option, as I can get them rebuilt locally, but, they've asked me to source the seal kits. Otherwise, I might just end up buying another pair on ebay if these are shot.

I have incorporated your photos into my post as it make looking at the photos for everyone so much easier. Looks like MAG 21 to me.

Thanks, so is there a specific seal and ring kit that this particular shock takes, as reading on the forums, the Mag21 has a different seal kit to other similar aged forks.

I have been told that I can get it rebuilt, but that I need to source the kit.

Any particular suggestions?

look to be 1993 mag21, crown/steerer is probably later.
do you have a picture from the rear, the area behind the brace mounts.
that's the definitive sign between 20/21 seris.

what's wromg with them, a service shouldn't cost much.
You can do most the work yourself.
seals may not be needed.
There is a wiper seal, you probably don't need this.
under that is an oil seal.
if it's not leaking, don't worry about it.
in the top cap is an air seal, if that hold air when inflated, bingo :)
an oil change is easy.

Do they hold air?

actually that brace is bothering me, that actually looks to be a Mag20 brace.
the part behind the mounting bolts, are they actually for recessed bolts?

which will be why the goldish fork colour looks like it does

need that rear view.
mag20 have a defined step there, the 21 doesn't.
 
if you can show a pic from behind of the upper part of the legs, that's the major tell for the difference between a 1992 Mag 20 and a 1993 Mag 21... it's the degree of taper at about 1 or 2 inches down on the gold leg.

Seals etc are the same, bushes are different.

Life is easier not looking in bright sun at a mobile phone, trying to see detail. But I'll keep on trying.
Last picture makes it certain though.

Personally, I would see what is working and learn to DIY.

Oil change, you don't need a lot.
Service you need some circlip pliers or be handy with a thin screwdriver.

You also need the air pump needle and a pump (servicing anything that will hold the needle).
For eventual pressure, anything that can accurately display around 40PSI.
