Robin Williamson had a well kent bike shop under his own name in Edinburgh for years. He wasn’t a framebuilder but he put his name on many bikes; there are plenty still around east central Scotland.
For a bit more context he was one of the first to recognise the potential of mountain biking in Scotland. His shop stocked MTBs before many and he also helped to create the Glentress Mountain Bike Centre in the mid 80s. His shop in Stockbridge eventually became an Alpine Bikes store.
Didn’t know he had anything to do with Biketrax but Biketrax is a lot more than a rental firm. It’s a full-service independent bike shop with a cafe in the Fountainbridge area of the city.
