Robert Millar's carbon Vitus

I was amazed at his memory, and also the fact that he rode 36 spoke wheels in the mountains. I'd assumed that 28 spokes were the way forward to get as light as possible, but is it to do with the battering they'd take descending, as well as the sheer grunt of a pro at race speeds uphill?

Cheers for the link, bigfatron. SSC blue rims there? Was great to see Robert storming along in the jersey at the '84 Glasgow Kelloggs/CH4 event, won by? I don't think it was Shane Sutton... Mmm, a great excuse to go check YouTube... .

as a kid we used to visit bislands after racing in glasgow green to see the skinsuit. I'll be in there soon to see the vitus!

Yeah saw it on the press room the other day. I need to see that Vitus. Millar was a total beast. He loved nothing more than dishing out some pain on his training rides in the hills. I read the book in search of Robert Millar. Great read
