gump Retrobike Rider Feedback View Jun 17, 2008 #4 I always use insulating tape to save weight (and not have to buy rimtape ). Just make sure no burrs and spokes protruding and never had an issue.

Schwalbe's my favourite, in softish blue polyurethane. http://www.twowheelsgood.co.uk/index.ph ... index.html Panaracer and Specialized used to make something similar, and along with the frame, crank dustcaps and front hub, the rimstrips are the only original parts of my '92 Stumpjumper still in active service. Can't be bad.
