Riding with music

Yes sure. I had a beautyful moment two years ago when downhilling with quite a speed, that i'm just heading straight towards a nice friendly bear on the middle of the track.
Eek! I get worried about wild boar round my way....but bears 🤨
Did your ring your bell and it shuffled off?

Btw music. Headphones are useful against cold, even buds are giving some protection

Finally it heard maybe the hubs running. Then moved into the bushes. With Hügi hubs it could have been more safe, Mavic was kinda silent.
No bells to ring i had. For pedestrians i used to do clapping, my GF thinks it's a little disrespectful.
So for the bear i did not try to make any noise not to scare it.

I'm sure if you go to some Kent car parks you can spot some bears having fun..

Though they'll be of the same species as us.

I don't use bells, when I had one people would jump, often to the wrong side, in front of the bike, instead I slow down and shout coming right or coming left, always works.

If there were bears round my way I'd have one of those gas powered horns on the handlebars!
Supposedly fairly near me we now have bison that have been released into the wild...I'd like to think I could outrun one but I don't actually want to find out 😆

Haha! I was in a big club in Ibiza and a "bear" took a fancy to little ol' me.
Did you know their chat up line is a dead arm!
F@#kin steroid muncher....I smiled back and stamped on his foot and blew him a kiss 😂
That was the end of the bromance !

Did

Didn't need to hear that 🤨
They are rather peaceful creatures really, we have a bunch due to be released into the wild as well, particularly on some of our Eastern islands. Moose in the North being released as well.

Most attacks by bison are due to people agitating them or getting too close, respectful distance and they couldn't care less.. Though once they charge you're at the mercy of whether or not it'll be deterred by you shouting.
