Riding in Lake District and Grizedale........amazing!!!!!!

Lloughrigg terrace is one of my favourite ways to end a ride in the lakes, although its usually jam packed with walkers. Hope you rode through the lake near the bottom - its obligatory!

:) yer, i had lots of family hols there in the 90's. my bro & i were set loose many a time around grizedale - we went back there the year before last & hired some bouncy konas to ride the north face trail. we both ended up buying new bikes the first chance we got & have seriously got the bug again!
i recall doing what i think was loughrigg fell one summer in '98 or '99 with an old mate on my pahoehoe, we were coming down that aforementioned final descent & my mate, on his heckler was trying to show off to some girls walking up & he ended up face-first in a gorse bush.. fond memories & he was a bit of a nob anyway.

This was the first ride I did in the Lakes (not my link):

Several times the front wheel sunk on what appeared to be "grass" up to the axle, resulting in a somersaulting catapult onto safe, if wet, bog. It took about 9 hours and we'd planned for 6. Almost dark on the way back.

I kipped that night.

Brilliant downhills of course. A lot of unrideable bits when it's been wet mind.

we used to do that one - you're right - ours turned into an epic one time as well (involving riding back with half spokes missing from front wheel and no tyre)!!

I was lucky enough to grow up in the lakes starting riding in 92 ish. As kids we used to tear round langdale, elterwater and grizedale. Learnt what it really means to cycle uphill offroad riding over garburn pass!!

Awesome place

Garburn pass was a great short ride. Problem was the 4x4s that used to tear up the track to make it almost unrideable
