Morning all, on this mornings ride in the drive side drop out snapped on my '96 frame as pictured.
Is it repairable or will it need replacing? :(
There are a couple of dents on the top tube so a full strip and respray is not out of the question.
Also if anyone has an 18" 1996 Explosif frame 'spare'let me know as cash is waiting!

It'll be repairable. Whether or not it's economical to repair it is a different issue. Depends how much you like that frame I suppose, you'll probably be able to get another for less money than a repair and respray.

about £150-200 to fix and re spray in original colour. add another 80-100 if you want the top tube replacing.*

*all prices are estimates and may bear(grrr) no resemblance to real prices either living or dead

I would pop the frame into a reputable local garage/engineering company and ask them to look at it. Powder coat about £50 for frame and just fill the dents :D

Does anyone have any good suggestions for Nort West London?

If not any national places would be fine as I can post it out.

Can't help with engineering firms. Could be worth contacting a few frame builders for quotes, you could probably e-mail the pics to a few of them and ask what they think. Chas Roberts is down your way, isn't he?
