no problem,..it's on me!

Speaking as an ex semi-pro motorsport snapper, you've got some very good stuff there Si.

I'd dearly love media access at La Sarthe but never quite managed it. I very nearly got accreditation as the Morgan team photographer one year but couldn't get the required level of public liability insurance in time. Gutted? Oh yes! Oh well; one day.....

Will you be at Silverstone in September?

Mike

 You got on the grid. Awesomeness. & rather a lot of jealousness tbh...

Loved the Astons, but these old faves ran them close in the noise stakes, despite being about as different as they could possibly have been. :)

Ziggy- I saw a green Saracen with yellow Judys on it- was that you about 3:30am on the road behind Houx toward BJ??

I could have been anywhere! Can't recall being up that way on Sat at that time, but would have been there abouts on Fri... The bike had the standard orange Saracen forks on it though, so I'm guessing it wasn't me...

Oh yes, the Corvettes. Almost shed a tear at the end. Those cars have been a constant in my recent years at Le Mans and now they are no more. They have given us some great racing over the years and the noise was something else- you can feel them go past they are so loud. Best memory was the 63 car just 2 car lengths behind the Aston DBR for eleven hours a few years back. It was an epic battle that anyone present will never forget- the high pitched howl of the Aston followed by a split second later by the thunderous bass rumble of the vette sent shivers down the spine lap after lap. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I will really miss the old girl. The Corvette and Big Ron Fellows were probably my favourite car/driver combo over the last few years. Now the car is in the museum and Ron has swapped his race shoes for loafers- somehow LM won't be quite the same without them.
Thanks for some great memories guys.

BTW, That 73 car is one of the Luc Alphand Adventures cars. Unfortunately Luc was badly injured in a motorcycle accident at the weekend and has fractured his spine. He was operated on in Clermont Ferrrand on Wednesday and it's time to keep fingers crossed. Luc is an absolutely top guy, very friendly. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

 Good luck to him...

Really won't be the same next year, although I've heard plenty of interesting rumours about potential newcomers!

would that be Porsche, Mazda, Honda, Toyota, Acura, Nissan and Ferarri with LMP1 cars? Lots of rumours.

Jaguar will be back in GT2, there will be a GT2 Corvette and hopefully no bloody JLOC Lamborghini wasting a space on the grid, that's for sure.

I've been sent a link from a mate of sneeky footage he took on the long straight on the run up to Indianapolis today. They got caught by the gendames but the footage he did get was breathtaking. The prototypes go past the GTs like they are stood still even though the GTs are doing 185plus! Certainly shows just what is so magical about Le Mans
Will post it up in the morning.
