Anyone use a small foldable solar panel or one that is a combined powerbank/solar panel on their trips. I can't use a Dyno hub.

I just take an anker power brick and keep phone use to a minimum.

Honestly in the UK small solar does almost nothing. Dyno or power bank is the way to go.

I got told on my Scottish trip that I was 'doing it the retro way' in having a paper map on my bar bag.

I merely pointed out it was a zero standby power bistable reflective display, and that one worry I didn't have was battery life. Phone nav is fab for turn-by-turn in towns but in the Scottish islands it's pointless.
