Working away on my PC when iTunes flicks to Elastica. Ages since I've listened to them and took me straight back to going to race meets back in the mid-90s. Had an AD90 with Elastica / Elastica on one side and The Levellers / Levelling the land on the other that I, pretty much without fail, would listen to every time I went off to an event / on the way home.

Just wondering what music had a retro bike connection for anyone else. :)

Levelling the land for sure, Guns & Roses, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns Lita Ford and the Mighty Twisted Sister, there was to much acid house back in the day.

A mate once left a 'mix tape' in the cabbage van (it belonged to a friend who ran a veg shop and always stank of cabbages) that we used to get around the country in. It contained early Stone Roses stuff, early Inspiral Carpets, The Fall, Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Spaceman 3, some weird east coast 60's garage rock, plus a smattering of MC-5 etc. A real mixed bag. Whenever I hear any of those songs I think back to a scorchin' summers afternoon in 1990 covered in mud eating fresh crab on the quay at Whitby having just riden 80 miles over the moors from Thirsk. Such happy days.

I have been thinking about re-creating that tape on ITtunes for ages. I might make a start now.

+2 Stone Roses and Inspiral Carpets (and Happy Mondays)

And The Clash, who have been a constant soundtrack for virtually everything for me since I was about 13!

+lots for Stone Roses, Inspiral carpets, Neds Atomic Dustbin, and Northside "Shall We Take A Trip....?" :D
Also, there's no such thing as "too much acid house", bleeps and squelches bring back many retrobiking memories for me :D
