Rob - we're also booked into Coniston YHA (Far End), we have an executive 4 bed suite as befits visiting dignitaries from exotic climes.

What's the pub / supper situation like in Coniston? Concerned there might be a repeat of the Penrith tea-shop encounter from 'Withnail & I' (but with Scottish accents).

I'm over in Ambleside (8 miles away) for Friday & Saturday night - not sure of arrival time on Friday, too many traffic variables on he journey up.

Doesn't look like I'm going now.....back in Newcastle after a couple of months in the lake district.

Loads to sort out and doubt I'd get back over let alone fancy riding the fatbike around.
