I met up with a mate of mine who's an electronics engineer and specialises in LED lighting systems. I'd mentioned to him before about the market for lights and the price of some of the units, what he hadn't told me previously was that he'd designed lights for two of the well known manufacturers. Here's hoping for his next prototype castoffs. I then just need to get a casing sorted for it.

good stuff so far guys. the casing manufacture would be the easiest part for me with the led spec and battery spec being the problem.

The Tesco LED AA torch for £10 is proving quite a popular base for a lot of projects

The wirring and speccing is the easy part to be honest, leds + driver, bingo. Casing and heat is the problems
