im with paul on the original 737 spuds......a good broad stable platform, easy and positive to engage on the move too.....a little heavier than some later offerings but dead right from day one for me.....they look huge on a period xt crank, like a toffee apple from the fair!.....i first saw them on paul hintons raleigh during an elite race at cannock in about 1991, the noise he made leaping onto his unshouldered bike and clipping in has lived in my memory since.....they remain to me the very epitome of retro mountain biking along with the xt thumby.....great stuff.....
