Retro spd's

Onza HOs, not too well thought of, but with my dodgy knee, the float is lovely.

I rode them back in the day, and am riding them again now. They're not as refined as newer pedals, but I've never had a problem with them.

I've a couple of sets of these:

The original and still the best Shimano M737 spuds.

Also have a set of these:

M525. Not nearly as good due having only one spring on either side.

I also use the M535 pedals and the red M636 'downhill' pedals depending on which bike.
I also have several more modern Shimano SPD pedals and they all feel pretty much identical in use. Shimano got the cleat design perfect the first time round in my opinion.

+1 for the Onza HO's, they worked well for me bitd and still do on my retro rides. Your choice of silver or Black bodies and steel or Ti spindles.

Enjoy!!

Do the onzas work with shimano cleats?

Tc

Nope, totally unique cleats that are getting harder to find.

But, you do get 2 sets of cleats in one, as the have 10degrees of float, or, rotate them 90degs and you have 6degs of float!

Standard 2 bolt fitting though.

i have a set of Onza HO w/ ti spindles if anyone is interested. believe cleats and different strength elastomers are included but i have to check the box.

as for the question, i use Shimano m737 and retro Ritchey's SPDs.

Ritchey's are these:

Still using the same pair of M525s that I bought back in 1992 or 93, missing nearly all their paint but still on the original bearings... I still have the invoice, they were a massive outlay for a schoolboy at the time but were well worth every penny!

One of them has been missing a tension bolt almost since I got them but as I use them almost as loose as they'll go I've never bothered trying to fix it. Anyone know how difficult those bolts are to replace?
