Retro Full Suss - The good, the bad and the ugly?

Didnt move, you must have ridden one with a bad elastomer. The replacement shocks transform them. I won't sit here and rant on about them but speak to any Proflex owner and they will tell you how great they are and how quick they are xc, particularly uphill, and you will never break one!!!!

It was Henk Djernis personal race bike  Don't think it had a bad elastomer,it wasn't supposed to move ;)

I like the Giant NRS too but my all time fave is the Turner XC, Marin mt vision a close second. All light full sus bikes that actually work. The main thing that put me off full sus BITD was weight and pedaling efficiency, hence my choices above. On that note the AMP research is worth a mention.

Try as I might I could never buy a giant - I was considering a lower end FS last year... Just not got the appeal... Now a turner or an AMP, now we're talking!!!

Definitely the coolest of the bunch is the turner  with the AMP a close second IMO. The Giant looks kinda weird with its low slung chainstays but believe me it rides really good. I used a mates one a few years back along a really bumpy hoofed rutted trail and I could happily sit and spin the pedals. Virtually no feedback through the pedals and it wasnt like bucking me out of the saddle. A very very good design I think, just looks bit odd.

my proflex rides like a beast, not too bad on the bob at all unless im out of the saddle pounding, in which case unless you have urt or some new ish deign any fs bike will bob.

It wasn't. Hank lapped me 3 times on a short course race the first year he rode for Proflex so I got plenty of opportunity to see what his rear shocks were doing and the word was that his rear shock was "deactivated" so I was looking out for it - and it was fully rigid.

And in my own biased opinion the best designed too.

Turner bushings with grease fittings make maintenance a breeze and they last a long long time too. Replacements are also still available from Turner too.

If I had to choose I'd track down a Turner frame
