Resto or Patina -- Which is best?

I agree with everyone else leave it as is.

If youre really worried about that bit on the chainstay then rust treat & touch it up with Humbrol enamel paint.

Nothing wrong with that... it's 17 years old it should have some patina...

Very shabby chic... :D I'd feel like ten men riding it!
 
keep the frame/fork as is, swap parts as needed/wanted. i've contemplated respraying a few times on projects, in the end i couldn't be bothered due to costs and time/effort. maybe one day when i find myself wanting a complete royal garage queen, and have the cash to adorn it with all NOS. :roll:

There's an entire division at Gibson Guitars that only works on putting patina on new guitars.
