Hmm, have you got a dehumidifier? If so, once you've stripped the bike off and washed everything in fresh water (boiling is a good idea as it evaporates) you can bung it next to the dehumidifier and dry it all out. Failing that maybe the airing cupboard or on a radiator?

Yuk. Amazingly, quite a bit of it is still intact. Although I'm a steel fan, I'm darned glad it was my only alloy frame that hit the drink. So far I've stripped it back to the bare frame, stripped the forks, regreased the hubs, installed a new BB and spent the day up to my knees in Muc-Off. All the LX gear seems completely fine. Took the shifter apart (it's set up as 1x9) and it was all remarkably clean and worked perfectly. Needs a new set of cables, a new chain and some new bolts and I should be able to ride the thing. I'm planning to keep an eye on the hubs and pedals and see how they get on after the regrease. Even the headset seems to have come through the ordeal.
Here's progress at the moment. The photo features my two Clockworks for those in need of a retro dose. And yes, this is my living room and yes that is some perfectly decent film equipment being used a frame stand

I would have thought that he'd go the whole hog and get a dredger.
BTW the DB frame looks very GT-ish (that'll upset everyone :twisted: ).
