Replacement Velocity Stem Rubber Bung

Anybody found a suitable replacement for the rubber bung that was used on Kona Velocity stems during the 1993 and 1994 model years? I've searched in vain to find a replacement! The problem being that it is an angled bung, all I can ever find are flat ones.

How about go for something dofferent like a Champagne cork?

Of course you'll be forced to drink some nice Champagne to get one, but such are the trials and tribulations of life.

Having checked whether a Zoom bung fits into my Velocity stem I can say with some confidence that the Zoom type version will be too big. The ITM version looks to be a little smaller so it may be a better fit.

Could worth a try at £1.99.

I'm after the exact same thing. I measured the hole as about 26mm left to right and 28mm front to back (the hole is oval) - so The Zoom one might fit? Maybe its a different one to the one you tried drystonepaul?

I've currently got two NOS Zoom stems and one old Velocity stem amongst my various stems. My Velocity also lacks it's bung.
The internal dimensions of the hole in the Zoom stem are approx 35mm x 30mm. The Velocity measures up at approx 26mm x 23.5mm.
So unsurprisingly the Zoom style bung was nowhere near a good fit.

I reckon the best bet would be to try the ITM version or try to get some dimensions from SJS cycles before buying one.

I have a kalloy uno stem with angled top cap. extenal measurement appears to be 29mm by 27mm. i can take some pics tommorrow. obviously i'd want to sell whole stem not just the bung. pm if you want some photos.
