Removing sticker glue residue from Carbon fiber?

Anyone got any bright ideas?

Normally acetone is my go to, but that is probably not a smart idea.

What's best, white spirit, neat washing up liquid, WD40, or something else?

God I hate carbon and I can't test an unseen area prior

WD40 would probably work well it shifts a lot of other things and the petrochemical in it would certainly melt/dissolve/breakdown decal adhesive

I’ve used Isopropyl Alcohol in the past but that’s not something most people have readily to hand

Grenades?

Because its carbon fibre you really shouldnt use anything oil based. Good old fashioned washing up liquid is usually enough and a good clean afterwards.

Thanks chaps for the input. Solved!

Had my arsenal prepared - also added sunflower oil and olive oil to the list, and decided to start
with what I considered the least aggressive.

Working in quality washing up liquid, letting it do it's stuff, rinsing with tepid water, drying, working more in,
eventually I could feel the adhesive break-down under my finger tips. Then one swipe with a microfiber cloth and off
with no evidence left!

Perhaps this thread should be a sticky to help others?

so that would be a sticky non-sticky thread!

I usually try warm water and washing up liquid, if that doesn't shift it then GT85, WD40, or similar

Probably too late now, but 3M heli tape can be used to remove sticker glue, just press down, lift .... repeat

WD40 and a washing up sponge would be my choice, just cleaned some RST forks of their gluey residue. Don't tell my wife!
