1995 Diamondback Axis TT Pro

Little update on the bike, I’m finally over my siatica and took her for a ride today! Rode as well as any bike I’ve ridden, with it feeling light and direct.

A ride on the Manitou 4 post rebuild, I decided I’m going to have a winter set up and maybe a summer/malverns set up.

Completely catalogue spec for Malverns and the summer rides and the below for winter. So the set up is now:

Sid forks
M950 brifters.
M950 v-brakes.
Front wheels is a Mavic grey 517 front with m750 hubs and black straight spokes.
Rear wheel is a Mavic grey 717 with M750 hubs with black hubs.
IRC Mythos tyres.
Flite titanium saddle.
Easton carbon monkey lite bars
Control tech 110mm stem (down from the 135mm).
Odi grips

I do also have some lovely rigid forks that I plan to use on it as well as I loved the ride on my now sold rigid Dynatech Torus. I’m going to spray them in either SID blue or black (any opinions greatly received)

Nice mate 👍🏼 Thanks for coming back to me regarding the frame size. I have an identical frame arriving next week. I am also planning to build up with XTR m950/52 parts plus I have a load of different wheel/fork options to play about with.
Need to get some decals from Gil too.
With regards to the fork colour, I would say either dark grey or black in my opinion.

Awesome! Are you going to do a thread? Would love to see it.

I'd like to fully 950 it but finding a nice crank and rings is either impossible or impossible to afford!

Can’t decide on mine wether to keep the original stickers as they are only lightly marked and have it as a “only original once” or just buy some news ones!

Did think of a 950 grey on it and have a ratty set of grey P2 forks I could mock it up with…may do that tomorrow. Might try matt black first and then go gloss without having to do it all again if I don’t like it.

Yeah, planning to do a build thread at some point soon (once it arrives).
Know what you mean about m950/52 cranks. Seem to be big money for a clean pair and having just forked out for the frame I can’t justify further big spend this month. I may opt for 90’s race face or I have a SID blue Kooka chainset in the shed which may look good.
Fork wise it’s either rigid P Bone’s painted black, yellow Judy SL’s, gen 1 SID’s in blue or answer manitou comps. If I can get a replacement 1 1/8th steerer then I also have Manitou 2’s.
Wheels will be M952 hubs on Mavic 517 ceramic rims or gen 1 cross max.
I’m only getting decals as the previous owner has polished the frame with Scotchbrite and has added non period decals.

Here's mine with black pace ti forks to give an idea what it may look like with black forks.

I do actually have an original, not repro set of decals in my collection which I sourced when I got my frame, but opted for some custom ones in black/clear to let some ti through the graphics.

If you are looking for some period forks, I have some nice manitou ti forks in red with canti brace, but will of course run v brakes if that's the route you go down. Also have some nice carbon unicrown forks with v mounts which have some yellow in the decals which would tie in with the dbr decals. Steerer length depending of course.

May also have some xtr cranks and BB lurking among much other m95x stuff.
