Yer, that's what I was interested in seeing thanks. I've heard of it but never seen it in real life before. advice above is spot on, you don't want to open up the cracks further by using a hex in it. is it drive or non drive side? you can get a helicoil for the non drive side cheap so if you screw the threads up you put one in, but the drive side is a bit more expensive given it's backwards and all that.
